Help with SCORM Builder.

Most questions are answered below. If yours is not, email support@lostendfound.com and say which version you have (SCORM Builder ▸ About SCORM Builder) and whether you got it from the Mac App Store or from us.

The free trial

Every new user can try every feature free for 7 days. On the Mac App Store, the app opens on the subscription screen: choose monthly or yearly and start the trial with your Apple ID. Cancel any time before the 7 days end and you pay nothing. If you keep the subscription, the first payment is taken when the trial ends.

Apple gives the trial once per Apple ID. If you have had it before, the same screen offers the subscription straight away.

Your subscription on the Mac App Store

  • Cancel or change plan. In the app, choose SCORM Builder ▸ Manage Subscription…, or open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings ▸ Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
  • A new Mac, or the app asks you to subscribe again. Click Restore Subscription on the subscription screen, signed in with the Apple ID you subscribed with.
  • Refunds. Apple handles payments for App Store subscriptions, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Licences bought from us

If you bought SCORM Builder directly, click Activate in your purchase receipt, or paste the licence key into the app. Lost the key? Click Email Me My Key… in the app and we send the activation link to the address you bought with. To move to another Mac, choose SCORM Builder ▸ License… ▸ Deactivate This Mac first. A plan bought directly does not carry over to the App Store version, or the other way round.

Where your courses are

Each course is a document on your Mac with the .scormbuilder extension, saved where you choose. It holds the course and every picture, sound, video and font it uses, so you can back it up, move it or send it to a colleague like any other file. File ▸ Export Project as Zip… makes a single file for email.

Exporting for your LMS

  • Choose File ▸ Export…, pick SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 4th edition, and upload the zip to your LMS as a new SCORM package.
  • Not sure which to pick? SCORM 1.2 works in almost every LMS; choose SCORM 2004 when yours asks for it.
  • If a block cannot go into the package, the export says how many it leaves out before you save, and the editor marks them.
  • If your LMS rejects a package or reports the wrong status, email us the LMS name and the zip, and we will look at it.

Courses from Rise 360

Export the course from Rise 360 as a SCORM or web zip, then choose File ▸ Import Rise 360 Export… in SCORM Builder. Blocks it cannot rebuild, such as embedded Storyline, are marked in the editor and left out of your exports.

Update emails

If you asked for update emails in the app, every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also write to us to be removed.
